Advanced Ecology students can use the links below to access the web site for major ecological journals (and some minor ones as you go down the list--the most important are at the top)--updated Jan 26 2007. Please let me know if you find some other journals that you like and can access on line, but can't get to through the library. For most of these you have to be on UCA network to access the pdf files.
Trends in Ecology and Evolution publishes review type articles about "hot" topics in ecology and evolution. The print copies are in the library and from the UCA campus, you can access this journal online and download pdf reprints.

Ecology Letters is great, but we don't take it in the library or online. However, you can usually get the article by emailing the author (the email will be on the abstract page) and asking for a pdf reprint of their recent article in ecology Letters and thanking them for their help. You can also paste the title into a google search and find a pdf on one of the authors home pages.

Conservation Ecology is an electronic journal on environmental ecology; from the link below you need to select subscribe, which is free to access the journal
Oecologia--a good international empirical data ecology journal; and the ability to download pdf reprints from the UCA campus; also in print in the library.

Torreyson Library-- Online search engine with fulltext articles are available for some journals Research Database link. SpringerLink and JSTOR have a bunch of good journals in ecology. In Proquest and Wilson Web you can search for fulltext articles from many journals, although only a few very recent and current fulltext issues are available.
