COURSE GOALS
By the end of this course, students will

Recognize the diversity of language systems and their fundamental similarities.
Use the basic terminology of linguistic subfields, including phonetics, phonology, morphology, and syntax
Use linguistic analysis to investigate the organizing principles of language.
Solve phonetic, phonology and morphology problems.
Demonstrate proficiency in constructing syntactic trees.
