Addiction: It's a Brain Thing!

"My own brain is to me the most unaccountable of machinery - always buzzing, humming, soaring, roaring,  diving, and then buried in mud.  And why? What's this passion for?" Virginia Woolf

Rather than characterize the brain as the most unaccountable of machinery - while most have been mystified by it at one time or another, although I doubt stated it as poignantly - I would suggest to you that the brain is a remarkably elegant piece of machinery.  A machine that we are just beginning to understand and one that will continue to mystify us with it's remarkable complexities and delights.  It is an organ that is a testament to evolution, to creation and the wonder of the universe.
