Dr. Terry Wollen is the Director of Animal Well-Being and Staff Veterinarian with Heifer International. This program raises the level of excellence of animal health and well-being by working with the Heifer staff around the world, providing training, forming relationships with other agencies doing similar activity, working with veterinarians and other animal scientists that are interested in Heifer’s work and seeking grants to further the training of improved animal management.

Dr. Wollen’s background is in food animal medicine and production. Following two years in the Army Veterinary Corps, he furthered his career in a four-man dairy, beef and equine veterinary practice in the state of Idaho followed by 20 years in research and development with the Bayer Corporation, Animal Health Division. Since then, he has worked in international development programs directly with UMCOR in Armenia and with Heifer International in Asia. Dr. Wollen now lives in the US and works with all of Heifer’s health and husbandry programs.
