Dr. Tom Roberts, MD Team Orthopedic Surgeon |
|
Dr. Roberts has been the team orthopedic surgeon for all of UCA athletics for the past 16 years. The Louisiana native has been Board Certified in Orthopaedics since 1990, is licensed in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi, and has proven to be an integral part in the health and well-being of all the UCA athletes he has come in contact with.
A graduate of Louisiana Tech University, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in chemistry, Dr. Roberts received numerous academic honors, and was president of Alpha Epsilon Delta while there. He then attended medical school at Louisiana State University, where he was president of the student body, and received the Chancellors Award for his academic success. Upon his completion of medical school, Dr. Roberts then performed his internship at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, and finished his residency in orthopaedic surgery there as well. He then went on to perform his fellowship at the LSU Knee and Sports Medicine Clinic.
Dr. Roberts has made over forty presentations on various orthopaedic concerns, and has nine published articles to his credit. He has also had three books/chapters accepted for publication—including “Complications of Knee Surgery” in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine: Principles and Practices.
Dr. Roberts is currently on staff at Conway Regional Medical Center, St. Anthony’s hospital, St. Vincent’s Doctors, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, and the Van Buren County Memorial Hospital—Ozark Health. In addition to these institutions, Dr. Roberts is also a member of several professional organizations. While not all inclusive, they do include the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the American College of Sports Medicine, Alpha Omega Alpha, and the National Athletic Trainers Association.
Dr. Roberts is married to the former Joanie Thiels and has 2 sons. They all currently reside in Conway. |

Dr. Kirsch has been consulting with the UCA medical staff over the past 2 years, and officially joined the Sports Medicine Team in the Fall of 2006. He is Board Certified in Otolaryngology.
A native of Illinois, Dr. Kirsch attended the University of Illinois where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with Departmental Distinction in May of 1983. While there he received numerous honors that included being a member of the Dean’s List, a Phi Eta Sigma Freshman Honorary, a Alpha Epsilon Delta Premedical Honorary, and a Psi Chi Psychology Honorary. He then went on to the Tulane University School of Medicine where he received his Doctorate of Medicine in 1987, and was honored with the “EENT Hospital of New Orleans Senior Award.” Dr. Kirsch then performed his surgical training in the Baylor University Medical Center Program, and his specialty training with Tulane University Affiliated Hospitals Program, with his residency in the department of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery.
Dr. Kirsch is involved with numerous professional affiliations. He is a fellow in the American College of Surgeons, an active fellow of the American Head & Neck Society, and fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery, a member of the Society of Baylor Surgeons, the American Rhinologic Society, the Triological Society, and the Arkansas Medical Society. He is currently an active staff member within the Conway Regional Medical Center, and is also an Assistant Clinical Professor of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery for the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences.
Dr. Kirsch’s professional career has also included 11 publications and 16 presentations on various topics related to his specialty. He has been included in the Who’s Who in Science & Engineering publication, the Who’s Who in America publication, and is a past recipient of the Schering– American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy Resident Grant.
He currently resides in Conway with his family, and is in practice here as well with the ENT Center of Conway. |
