Welcome to the homepage of the Third-Party Interventions in Intrastate Disputes (TPI- Intrastate Disputes) Project!  The TPI-Intrastate Disputes Project, which is co-directed by Dr. Mark J. Mullenbach at the University of Central Arkansas and Dr. William J. Dixon at the University of Arizona, was established to promote research and analysis of domestic political disputes and interventions by third-party actors.  In order to do so, the project has compiled empirical data on all types of interventions by third-party actors, including states, inter-governmental organizations (IGOs), and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), in intrastate disputes during the 20th century and beyond.

For information on the origins and background of the TPI-Intrastate Disputes Project, please refer to the introduction.  We have also provided a bibliography of the some of the papers and articles that have been authored or co-authored by Dr. Mark Mullenbach and Dr. William Dixon regarding third-party interventions in intrastate disputes.  Finally, we have provided links to a number of data sets developed by this project.

You are welcome to use any of the available data sets developed by this project. However, if you use one or more of the data sets, or any of the project's information, please let us know.  Also, please be sure to acknowledge the TPI-Intrastate Disputes Project as the source of data used in any presentations or publications.  Please contact us if you have any questions or comments, or if you find any errors in the data sets or elsewhere.
