Current Research Project
My researches and ideas, all, can be integrated under the topic of computer architecture and hardware design. In particular, I am working on:
Design for Hardware Security and Trust,
Dependability assessment of computing systems, I am especially interested in following platforms: RISCV-based processors, Rocket Chip, and Boom,
Custom Architectures Design/Synthesis with Dark-Silicon Awareness,
Security/Reliability of AI-Enabled Embedded Systems.
My current research projects are:
Security/Reliability assessment and enhanement of AI-enabled emdedded systems: There are 1 active master, and 1 undergraduate students working on this topic. We are do research on the low-cost and efficient solutions to imorove the reliability and security of AI-enabled embedded systems.
Architectural design for NoC security and testability: There are 3 active master students working on this topic. We are doing design space explorations to find new hardware security attacks for NoC-enabled chips as well as the countermeasures.
Security assessment of RISCV-based processors and systems: Involving 2 master students we try to find security holes and appropriate countermeasures. Our platform in this project is Rocket Chip.
Prospective students need to have a good knowledge on hardware design especially Verilog and Chisel, good programming skills in C, C++, and hands on synthesis tools like Xilinx Vivado or Synopsys Design Compiler.
