MY VISION

  My goal is to create a caring community of students who are learning about teaching.  In our class we are comfortable with each other and feel safe enough to make mistakes, to question assumptions, to share insights, and to take risks.  I desire my students to become reflective about their practices as teachers as together we seek ways to engage ourselves and others in the process of learning.

   I intend to inject students with my own enthusiasm for learning so that they are excited to come to class.  My hope is that students will leave our class with greater confidence about their decision to teach and with a sense of efficacy -- a belief that they can make a difference.  I hope that the members of our class learn to interact in a collegial manner with each individual feeling valued.  Recognizing the need for continued professional growth, a commitment to quality is evident in our work and in our search for ways to become more effective teachers and learners.

Learning Outcomes for Students:

1.    To develop your capacity to “think like a teacher” through problem solving opportunities;

2.    To strengthen your commitment to facilitating student learning (greater efficacy); and

3.    To increase your knowledge about and self-confidence in effectively responding to various teaching challenges.

I desire to help students become thoughtful teachers who care, challenge, and communicate effectively.
