Description
The UCA Department of Physics and Astronomy encourages students of all majors to participate in research projects mentored by the faculty. Undergraduate astronomy research is an opportunity for students to explore the universe.
The UCA Observatory is equipped to do imaging, astrometry, photometry, and spectroscopy. This allows us to study variable stars and asteroids. The department is also equipped with the computers and software for the data reduction, analysis, and modeling of the data that is acquired from the UCA Observatory and other observatories.
UCA students can also have access to the privately run Nubbin Ridge Observatory near Hot Springs to do research.
Contact
Any UCA students interested in participating in astronomy research should contact either Dr. Austin or Dr. Burris.
