Remember you will need a valid passport to enter Hungary. No visa is required for citizens of US, Canada, Australia and most of Europe. Citizens of other countries should check with their local governmental office. If you are coming by plane, visit the homepage of
Ferihegy International Airport in Budapest. Getting into downtown Budapest from the Airport: The Airport Authority (LRI) runs a minibus service to any address in thecity for 1500 forints. You simply state your destination at the minibus desk. Similarly, when heading for the airport, you can call the minibus and get it to pick you up from your address in the city. There is also an airport bus to and from the Erzsébet Square bus station in the city center. This service leaves every thirty minutes from 05.30AM-21.00PM, stops at both terminals, and costs 600 forints. You can buy tickets on the bus. The local bus service offers the bus line no. 93 (number in red), an express bus which runs between the underground terminus at K?bánya-Kispest Station and Ferihegy Airport. You need a 95-forint ticket to travel on the bus, which can be bought at vending machines by the bus stops. From the K?bánya-Kispest station you need another ticket to take you into town.
