Imagination, and Emotion in Conference

College The Center for Cognitive Studies of the Moving Image (CCSMI) and Calvin College are pleased to announce a three-day conference, “Narration, Imagination, and Emotion in Moving Image Media.” This will be the fourth meeting of CCSMI, and the first in a conference format (with an open call for papers). Previous symposia were held at the University of Kansas, the University of Copenhagen, and the University of Pecs (Hungary). The Center for Cognitive Studies of the Moving Image is interdisciplinary in scope, with participants from film and media studies, philosophy, psychology, literature, and other disciplines. Directing CCSMI is Joseph Anderson of the University of Central Arkansas. The associate director is Martha Hensley, and the managing director is Barbara Anderson. Board Members include David Bordwell (University of Wisconsin-Madison), Edward Branigan (University of California-Santa Barbara), Noël Carroll (University of Wisconsin-Madison), Charles Eidsvik (University of Georgia), Torben Grodal (University of Copenhagen), Paisley Livingston (University of Copenhagen), Wayne Munson (Fitchburg State University), Carl Plantinga (Calvin College), Stephen Prince (Virginia Tech), Murray Smith (University of Kent-Canterbury), and Ed Tan (Free University, Amsterdam).
