Monday April 2nd

Day 2 of our trip consisted of meeting Chris Allen and other acousticians who work at Johnson Space Center's Acoustics Office which is part of Johnson Space Center's Habitability & Environmental Factors Division. We presented our Arkansas Space Grant Consortium sponsored research on Aeroacoustic Excitation of Acoustic Resonance and Thermoacoustic Quality Factor Enhancement . We also got to tour the Space Vehicle Mock-up Facility!

Pictures of the shuttle mock ups used to train the astronauts.

Us getting into the shuttle!

Listening to our guide Adam, a real astronaut trainer,
tell us about how the astronauts
cook, sleep, shower, and store trash in this area.

On day 3 we got to be tourists at the visitors' center: Space Center Houston!

Mission control during the Apollo missions

Astronauts' and engineers' work stations

This is where the astronauts practice using the International Space Station's robotic arm.

A tourist's view of the mock ups we went into on Monday.

We took a tram tour of all of Johnson Space Center

One stop on the tram was to view these trees.
There is one tree for each astronaut who has passed away on a mission.

These are pictures of a Saturn V rocket that is on display.

We got to fly on the space station!
(With a little help from a green screen and photoshop)

We had a great time!
