Procedural Notes
- You don't strictly need the conducting spheres to demonstrate inductions vs conduction. There's only the one pair of them, anyway. Students can use a metal cup placed on a cork insulating board. Just clip the charge sensor to the lip of the cup (always ground the black lead), and away you go.
- If you're going to demonstrate the van de Graaff lighting the fluorescent tube, you might want to do that yourself. You're going to get a (mild) shock, so maybe best not to surprise a student volunteer with that.
