A: Only the G8 will follow the top path through red giant, planetary nebula, white dwarf. The B-type stars will both follow the bottom track, and notice that these examples are not main sequence Bs. These stars have already left the main sequence. Rigel is a blue supergiant, and Bellatrix is in the red supergiant stage of its evolution.
