Chapter 00.14

The celestial equator is the projection of the Earth's equator onto the celestial sphere. Because of the Earth's 23.5° axial tilt, this is not the path which the sun (moon, and planets as well) appears to follow. The ecliptic is that path, and repreents the plane of the solar system. While not perfectly flat, the solar system is pretty darn flat.
